Toddler Alarm Clock Reviews and Prices

Depending on the age of your child it make take longer to teach them how the clock works. And what I mean by that is getting your child to remember what the colors mean. With some of the clocks, the blue glow of the light means that it is time to get up (with others it is a yellow glow).

I personally bought the Teach Me Time, but I wish that I had found My Tot Clock first as it has more features that I would have used. Don't get me wrong, the Teach Me Time is great. I suppose it will come down to cost, but you will have the clock for years and it will be money well spent.

My Tot Clock

My Tot Clock: Helping Small Children Sleep Better...So Parents Can Too!

Now this little clock seems to have it all. My Tot Clock also uses the glowing color of light to teach children when it is time to get up and when to sleep. A blue glow indicates time to sleep and a yellow glow is time to get up. It also has a red and green glow for those who use the "time-out" feature (red to stay in your room and green to indicate that the time-out is over). In addition to the colors, this clock also plays soothing music such as lullabies and oceans sounds. I wish I had found this clock earlier as I always played "water music" for my children to go to sleep with. Playing the music as soothing and it also buffered out the noise that the rest of the family was making when the young ones where in bed. If you don't want the music, you can set it to tell a bedtime story. The customer reviews have been fantastic and has averaged at 4.5 stars. Those who did not like the clock complained about the following: the blue glow is too bright, the clock malfunctioned (although when they returned it they all said that customer services as great), and it's a bit pricey. Some of the challenges parents had was not with the clock, have having the patience to each their really young ones what the colors mean. Just give it a little time and your youngster will remember that yellow is time to get up.
The Tot clock allows you to play bedtime stories for your child (which gives you a break every once in a while). They have created three additional stories that you may want to purchase so that your child as some variety.

Teach Me Time

Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock and Nightlight

The Teach Me model of alarm clock is wonderful in that it has both the digital and analog display on the clock which allows the child to learn to tell time both ways. The yellow glow of the clock indicates to the child that it is time to sleep and not to get out of bed yet. When they see the green glow, then they know that it is time to get up. This clock plugs in to the wall which is nice so that you don't have to keep replacing the batteries. Reviews: The reviews on this clock have been amazing. It is by far the most popular of the toddler clocks on the market as it can be used at all learning stages. First they learn with the glow colors, then with the reading of time on the clock. Once they get old enough, they can even use the snooze button! If your child does not want the nightlight on during the night, you can switch it off. As for pricing, it's list price is $45.00, which some people have thought is steep, but your child will have this clock for many years. From age 1 to 12 for sure. I have found it available on sale at times and if you are interested in the clock, click here for pricing of where I got mine.

OK to Wake Alarm Clock

OK to Wake! Children's Alarm Clock and Nightlight

This alarm clock is a visual reminder to children when it is okay to get up and out of bed. The clock glows a soft yellow in the evening and through the night. When a child wakes up and sees the yellow glow, then know that it is not time to get up and should go back to sleep. In the morning if the light is still yellow, then they should either sleep some more, or play quietly in their room until the clock gives off a green glow. The green means GO and time to get going for the day. This little clock also has a nap function (which does not interfere with the evening/moring alarm). The nap function helps children know when it is time to get up from their nap. The pink and green face plates come with the clock and your and your child can pick what color they would like to have for their clock. The glowing of yellow and green remains the same no matter which face plate you choose. This particular clock runs off 4 AA batteries and does not plug into the wall. So make sure that you have some extra batteries on hand. The only real downside to this clock is that when the green glow is on, the clock no longer displays the time. Most customers prefer the Teach Me model (review above). I found them on sale here.

Stoplight Sleep Clock

Stoplight Sleep Enhancing Clock

The Stoplight Clock is more basic than the other toddler clocks discussed above. This clock only has the digital time at the base of the clock and indicates via a stoplight when it is time to get up and when your child should be staying in bed. Red is time for sleep and green means that it is time to get up.

Kidsleep Clocks for Toddlers

These two are the Kidsleep clocks. They do not use the colored glow of light to indicate when it is time to sleep or when it is time to get up. What these clocks do is light up the section of the clock where the animal is either awake or sleep. The blue clock has the bunny walking for the awake time and the bunny is sleeping when your child should be sleeping. The green clock has a lamb either walking or sleeping.
